Fighting Fit

Chisholm Catholic College student Liam Sweeney is making headlines with his successes in Taekwondo this year. With an impressive history of two-time Australian national champion and four-time state champion, Liam proves to be no push over when it comes to both study and being on the mat.

But Liam's successes don't stop there, he has also bested opponents in the President's Cup in Canberra (Receiving a Bronze medal) and is the reigning title holder of the Junior Sports Champion in Redlands. If that wasn't impressive enough, Liam explained that " (He has) one more comp this year at the nationals in Melbourne and if I win, I will represent Australia at the Oceania Championships in Fiji later this year."

When interviewing Liam about what his future prospects are for his impressive career he noted "I was invited back to Korea for a months specialised training after attending a previous training camp". Later this year Liam will be leading his club in raising funds and awareness for martial arts at Chisholm. Liam plans to follow his path and 'in the future' pass on his knowledge to others.
Great work Liam!
