Titans Cup Grand Final Win!!
Titans Cup Grand Final Win!!
Page Content
Congratulations to our Senior Boys Rugby League players who competed in the Grand Final of the Titans Cup on Wednesday evening, taking victory against Keebra Park 26-12.
The evening was full of atmosphere with many Grand Finals being played at the same venue throughout the evening. Our game kicked off at 7:30pm and we started the game with plenty of energy and commitment. The half did consist of a few penalties go against us and some crucial mistakes in key positions on the field. Regardless of this the players defensive determination only allowed Keebra to score on the flanks, whereas we managed to work plays and break them through the middle. This was down to Joel Carnes and Jacob Dawson working tirelessly in defence and attack in the middle. Halftime arrived and we were up 10-8.
Regroup and a few changes led to the game being played again at a high skill level. Their patches came and went whereas we managed to capitalise on our field position, again through some excellent work from Dominic Bellars and Mitchell Le Prou who ran the game out wide. After 10 mins of no score, we broke their line and managed to keep playing good football and score some quality well structured tries. Bailey Waite, even with a bad cut under his eye played tirelessly throughout the game and was so strong in attack and defence. He was a significant reason why we won the game. Josh Bell was the ‘puppet master’ at full back up was continually chatting, guiding and assisting in the each and every play throughout the game. He was solid at Full back for the team. Hayden Milne and Lachlan Burgess came on and did their job in defence and provided quality attacking contributions.
Combining all the efforts by our Chisholm players contributed to the first ever Grand Final win in rugby league for Chisholm at this level - 26-12 VICTORY!!!!!!!!!. Jacob Dawson, Josh Bell, Dominic Bellars, Mitchell Le Prou, Hayden Milne, Bailey Waite, Lachlan Burgess and Joel Carnes have created a really great platform for the next journey... Confraternity. It was a long day, but very much worth it.
