Dear Parents/Carers of Year 7, 2024,
Thank you for your attendance at the Parent Information Evening. It was wonderful to have you attend; it speaks volumes with regards to the partnership we want to sustain with you. We hope that you found the provided information to be helpful, particularly the documents that were made available.
Over the course of this term we will provide several updates. The topics for this update – Orientation Day, SEDA Application and Trials, Uniform and Chisholm Bus Service.
If you haven't already done so, connect to our Facebook and Instagram accounts, and see what is happening at the College.
ORIENTATION DAY
We have planned an Orientation Day for Monday, 27th November. This day is specifically for students who will enter Year 7 in 2024. They will participate in a range of experiences that will help familiarise them with how our College operates. Their Pastoral Leader and Year Level Leader are looking forward to meeting them, as well as their proposed Pastoral Care teacher for 2024. On this day, students are asked to wear their current school uniform and hat.
We ask that you drop your son/daughter at the College at 8:45am and pick them up at 1:30pm.
They will need to bring:
- a notebook,
- writing materials,
- morning tea, lunch and a water bottle.
SPORTING EXCELLENCE AND DEVELOPMENT ACADEMY (SEDA)
In Year 7, SEDA can be selected as timetabled elective subject. This class runs for one term and includes a practical and theoretical component for students to develop further skills and knowledge about their selected sport. It is not a requirement for a student enrolled in SEDA to participate in this class. Students will have access to a wide range of sporting opportunities throughout the schooling year.

Trials will be held at the College on Wednesday, 18th October.
- Basketball – Wednesday, 18th October, 3:30pm-4:30pm
- Netball – Wednesday, 18th October, 3:30pm-4:30pm
- Football – Wednesday, 18th October, 3:30pm-4:30pm
- Rugby League – Wednesday, 18th October, 3:30-4:30pm
CHANGES TO UNIFORM
At the Parent Information Evening, we highlighted that there were changes to the Uniform for 2024. The main changes being:
- Sports Uniform
- Unisex Formal Hat
- Boys Formal/Sports Socks
- Soft-Shell Jacket – both Formal and Sports Uniform (this will become available during Term 1, 2024)
We will provide you with an update on when these items become available for purchase. We understand that this will be late November/mid December.
SUBJECT SELECTIONS – ELECTIVE SUBJECTS
As presented at the Parent Information Evening, you will receive an email regarding subject selections in a few weeks time. The email will explain the process, using an app called Subject Selections Online. Included will be information about each of the available subjects.
CHISHOLM BUS SERVICE
Chisholm Catholic College buses are operated in partnership with Express Coach Lines. They are an exclusive service that generally follows TransLink Service Routes. A copy of the routes for Bus 1 and Bus 2 were provided via the QR Code at the Parent Information Evening.
- The listed routes will not be altered unless roadworks or similar require an adjustment. This would be communicated to travellers on the service.
In a future Update email, an Expression of Interest survey will be included. We are currently communicating with existing families.
