Rugby League Subject

Year 7/8

Students who are looking to have additional rugby league and game opportunities apply for the junior program in rugby league through the Application form. They then are provided with weekly training sessions before or after school.

Year 9/10 Rugby League Elective

The practical component of the subject involves training 6 fortnightly 50 minute sessions during school time with the programs head coach. The academy philosophy will be followed through the elective subject and additional support in skill acquisition, structure, strength and conditioning is measured and implemented through student ability in their micro and macro skills.

Theory lessons are conducted during the fortnight that cover topics that are linked to health and physical education curriculum, but have a sports specific ‘touch’ to them. These are nutritional knowledge, bio mechanical principles, performance analysis and more.
