e-STEAM Electives Year 7-9

The e-STEAM elective combines practical and theoretical learning across Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics. It allows for the transfer of skills across curriculum and provides real world context for their knowledge and skills. Through e-STEAM, students are given the tools to use their knowledge to “Live Christ's Challenge", and use their innovation and entrepreneurial skills to address local and global issues in a sustainable way.

In Year 7 and 8 STEM has a project-based learning approach, where the students demonstrate their mastery of content by building, testing and modifying a product. Students in year 7 and 8 can chose to participate in STEM as an elective for 1 Term per year.

In Year 9 Students can choose their own area of interest and design, test and propose an authentic solution to a local issue. Students in Year 9 can select STEM as an elective for a Semester.

Extracurricular Activites

In addition to elective subjects, all students from Year 7 to 12 can choose to participate in STEM extracurricular activities such as the e-STEAM SECA program, Optiminds, Problem Solving Competitions, Robotics Challenges, Mathematics Club and Chess Club.
